The Blessing of the Bikes

One of the signature events for the community, the annual Blessing of the Bikes brings motorcycles of all varieties and sizes to Baldwin. This ever-popular event began in 1972 with four bikes and eight riders. Today, thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts head to Baldwin to celebrate the joy of two-wheel travel. Between 5,000-10,000 bikes are expected in Baldwin annually for this celebration.  This family-oriented event is held every year on the third Sunday in May. The market downtown features vendors who sell leather and other items, with tattoo artists also available. The actual "blessing" ceremony begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Baldwin Municipal Airport, with gates opening at 9 a.m. There is a $5 donation per bike.  This year is the 43rd Annual Blessing of the Bikes and it will take place May 19-21, 2017.
